Our Manifesto

“We are empowered. We are individuals who think and speak for ourselves.”

“We aspire to live a fulfilled life, whatever that means to each of us, and we support women who make different choices than the ones we make.”

“We lead in all areas of life, and we want to see more women leading in politics, business, technology and more.”

“As we succeed, we lift up those around us. Women are powerful mentors.”

“We applaud efforts to make it easier for us to manage work and family but know the answer isn’t one-size-fits-all policies that limit choice and flexibility.”

“We deserve and expect to be paid fairly. No woman should be paid less simply for being a woman.”

“We appreciate those who came before us and fought for the freedom and flexibility we enjoy today.”

“We know that women are not always treated respectfully and fairly, but not all men are sexists. Strong men appreciate strong women and we’re stronger together.
”

“We are thoughtful, intelligent, and vote with our brains knowing that all issues are women’s issues.”

“We embrace innovation. We value ideas that allow us the opportunity to start and run a successful venture of any size.”

“We have no tolerance for violence against women. Those who victimize and endanger women should be prosecuted under full accordance of the law.”

“We are proud to live in a prosperous, free country and stand with women across the globe in defending human rights.”

“We are compassionate, assertive, enterprising, adventurous, confident and patriotic, and we are empowered.”

I went through some traumatic experiences that nearly broke me. With time to process my experiences, and space to heal through writing, reading, running, and painting, I found myself emerging from a place of trauma to a place of authentic, genuine strength. I was empowered by the experience of finding healing and felt compelled to seek out other women who had already or would at some point experience similar trauma to mine. I started a local chapter of an international non-profit network, providing education, advocacy and support for women. To feel empowered by my own experience was an amazing feeling, but helping other women to be empowered brought a completely different level of satisfaction. Our experiences, whatever they are, can be the greatest gifts of empowerment. We are empowered when we take our stories of trauma and healing and use them to improve not only ourselves but all those within the circle of our influence.

Empowerment means that you don't stop for approval or permission from others to move forward. It's all about giving yourself permission to be your best, your strongest, your most powerful. Regardless of race, gender, age, etc., you stand up for yourself, and for others. Empowerment is without judgement of self. It's pure progress toward something you believe in. It pushes the status quo, it pushes the needle toward equality, it pushes individuals to be their best.

To be empowered is to be knowledgeable. Meaning as a woman, you are financially knowledgeable, socially conscious and aware of a variety issues in the world. The best way to empower yourself is to READ. Read books on finances, careers, entrepreneurship, social issues and books on enhancing yourself. I also think empowerment is helping other women. If you are in a position to mentor and give back, empower another woman who is not in that position yet. We must stick together!

To be empowered, to me, is to realize the freedom and means I have as a woman to actively take my life and my world in the direction I want it to go. I know I have a special ability to use both the nurturing, feminine nature and strong, ambitious nature in me to foster a power and influence that only a woman could create.
Beverly T.

Inner resources are prerequisites of personal empowerment - intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social maturity; virtues; independent thinking seeded by wisdom that is not self-generated; autonomy balanced by reciprocol influences and commitments. Such interior assets enable strength to swim against popular tides, to resist crowd tyranny; and to shift societal and national trajectories. Robust faith offers singular inoculation against coercion by external forces - by those who are more powerful, richer, more credentialed or more status-packed. Once gained, such soul freedom is highly resistant to enslavement by controllers of this world.
Julie E.

Julie E.

Being empowered is more than making my own decisions. It is accepting responsibility for the consequences of those decisions. It is finding fulfillment in the mundane as well as the exciting. It is exploring my passions and pursuing my dreams. It is refusing to be labeled or put into a box to fit someone else's preconceived idea of what I should be.

It can be found in many places: family, work, faith, friendships.

It is freedom.
